Changes to Repeat Prescription

Changes regarding repeat prescriptions starting the 1st August 2016. Please see above the information leaflet.

As from the 1st August 2016 GP Practices will no longer accept prescription requests from the pharmacies. This has been implemented by North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group. You will need to order your repeat prescription in one of the following ways:
  • Online - Please see reception
  • Dropping a request into the surgery
  • By post or fax

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

thepillPlease allow 5 working days for repeat prescriptions to be prepared and signed. Only order what medicine you actually need, rather than requesting everything.  This will help keep wastage to a minimum.

Please do not wait until your last tablet before requesting a repeat.  Please note, in the interest of patient safety,  we do not take repeat requests over the telephone.

PLEASE DO NOT COLLECT PRESCRIPTIONS BEFORE  10.30 AM. FROM THE SURGERY.  IF YOU PREFER YOU CAN ASK THAT YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS SENT DIRECT TO ONE OF THE LOCAL PHARMACIES, WHERE YOU CAN COLLECT YOUR MEDICATION WHEN IT HAS BEEN DISPENSED.  PLEASE ASK RECEPTION TO ARRANGE THIS.

Repeat Dispensing

If you are on medication which does not change from month to month you may like to consider Repeat Dispensing.  This means that the doctor will authorise 6 months worth of prescriptions, in advance, so that you only need to go to the Pharmacy to pick up your medication once a month.  Please ask for a form from our Reception Staff.
